Spring SUCKS!

It is either raining or cold or snowing or so windy you can barely breathe out there.  In other parts of the country people love Spring and I often hear it is some people's favorite tiem of year!  I cannot even imagine Spring being a favorite season, in fact it is my LEAST favorite!  Truth be known my favorite is Fall.  Anyway, not much beats a Lake Superior sunrise no matter what season and at the moment I am dreaming of a warm summers morning on the shores of Gitchee Gummi...

All I can say about that photo is WOW! Absolutely stunning.

Spring here in Chicagoland has been hit or miss. One day nice, next day snow flurries, then sun, then rain. It was supposed to be rainy all weekend and so far it's been decent. We have tackled a ton of yard work. We have a major mess in our little yard. Front yard torn up in Feburary for major plumbing issue called tree root in pipe....back yard torn up from our new garage to house for the trench for electric....and then all around the new garage. Lots of tilling, straightening, seeding in that regard. And then the regular spring clean up (I leave all the stuff in the yard over the winter in case any birdies or animals want to seek shelter under it or use it and I'm usually lazy in the fall to do that after raking leaves).

So the sun is out this morning. Soon more work to be done.

A little sparrow is building a nest in my patio awning. Today he brought an ususual nesting material....about a 30' piece of cassette tape. Looks very silly coming out of nest. Unfortunately, I will pulling that out.

Hi Pam!! My you sound busy! I know the angst of torn up yard very well! around 1998 or so, I had to have my whole front yard dog up all the way across the driveway for a new water line. I have heavy red clay so it took years to settle and grass grow over. Just about the time I finally had a nice flat green yard my power line needed to be replaced! I was sitting here on my birthday which happened to be memorial day a few years ago and it was cold and pouring rain. All of a sudden my power went out! It was the line that had been spliced and finally fried! It took up until last fall for that to flatten out and look green!

I love the photo too! It was from one of the mornings of the weekend at the Apostles last summer! Thanks!

I hope your spring and mine get better soon! I think my grass should be green by the weekend and I only have a little bit of snow left on the north side of my house!
