Dreaming of Madeline Island
I am dying to get back to Bayfield and hop a ferry to Madeline Island..
And go to the beach...
Make a stop at Tom's burned down cafe...
Well that was fun but time to go back to the beach
Stop by the old cemetery and pay my respects. The white mans style of house was adopted by the Christianized Ojibway in his custom of both protecting the dead and the food left with the dead. The food gave sustenance for the 4 day journey to the hereafter as well as something for the spirit to leave for friends, relatives, and the poor.
Time for the ferry ride back ot the mainland!
