The first Land Line Telephone arrived in Alligator Pond in 1995, they put it in front of the police station which was a popular hang out

Alligator Pond is named for the shape of the Mountain that surrounds the small fishing village. It's tail stretches out to sea.

These Fishermen just came in from sea, it was them bringing in the boat from the earlier photo. It was not uncommon to see the men carrying these huge motors on their shoulders through town as though they weighed nothing at all

We went for a swim in Gut River clear blue water on our way to Milk River Bath from Alligator Pond. The easiest way in, was just jump off the rock.

There are two rivers in front of the sea Riv to get to the beach, over sallow water. It was much easier walking through the calf hieght water than to try to navigate this old rickety bridge, which the first time I did was at night time when I hadn't even seen it during daylight! It was a challenge!

People come from miles around, mostly from the Mandeville area to buy fish from the fishermen, starting anywhere around 10am when they come inwith their catch
