June 2, 2009 one week

It's been a week today.  The reminders are still painful but the swelling is almost gone and the healing has begun.  Some of the scars are already healed and tomorrow I'll go for a check up with the plastic surgeon.  Finally, the pain in my eye from whatever gouged my cornea is all but gone.  That only comes back with a sideways glance so I avoid those and just keep looking forward.

I still can barely see and that is troublesome.  I hope that improves soon as I need to be able to see to make beads and jewelry and I'm getting bored with just sitting.  I guess that is what drove me to start this blog.

I have a question. You say you will see a plastic surgeon tomorrow. What is the recommendation for follow up with the oncologist?

Hi FT! Yes today I will see the plastic surgeon and hopefully have good news about when I can see again. I have a follow up appointment in end of September to see the dermatologist about a pre-cancer spot just below the one they just took out. The oncologist doesn't take care of facial skin cancer, it's the dermatologists and ear/eye specialists I am seeing.
