One of my passions has to do with leaving a better world than the one we're living in as far as environmental matters are concerned. It is through education and commitment that we can leave a better tomorrow for those that follow us after our relatively short time on this earth.
In this section I will cover the subjects of what to do with those items you might have in your attic, basement, garage, or just laying out near the back shed that have been there for what seems like forever. Some items may have out dated labels concerning disposal. Some things, such as florescent lights and fixtures, car batteries, leftover paint cans, mattresses, electronic equipment, treated lumber and such may leave you wondering how and where to dispose of them.
As a licensed solid waste disposal operator, I can help you with information as to what to do with those items, since it's that time of year again, where people are busily getting ready for winter and making room in their garages etc...and hauling solid waste by the truckloads to local landfills or transfer stations, I thought it would be a good time to address some of these concerns and leave you with a guide as to what to so with what.
I'll cover those concerns by category and also leave a forum for questions and answers, as well as input in an attempt to helping you do the right thing. I'll get to finishing this section as soon a possible, in the next few days.
Together, if me make a commitment, we can keep landfill use to a minimun and by properly disposing our trash, we can help protect the groundwaters which eventually become outr water supply, and that of future generations...
